Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has reacted to the news that head coach Marcelo Bielsa will remain in charge at Elland Road next season.

Bielsa took charge at Elland Road last summer, signing a two-year deal, with the club having the option to extend or terminate the deal at the end of his first season.

However, after Leeds failed to win promotion from the Championship, his future at the club became uncertain, with some fans fearing that he would leave.

After extensive talks with chairman Andrea Radrizzani and the other members of the board, Bielsa has decided to remain as head coach for another season.

Cooper was one of the first Leeds players to react to the news on social media and posted this message on his personal Twitter account.

Cooper has one of the standout players for Leeds in the Championship this season and scored three goals in 38 appearances for the Whites.

The Verdict:

This is a massive boost for Leeds United.

Bielsa was fantastic in his first season at Elland Road and the players totally bought into his coaching methods and style of football.

I'm sure Cooper and his teammates will be absolutely delighted with the news that he will be staying and it will give them even more motivation to win promotion next season.
