Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper insists that the players are right to be helping out in any way they can during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Football players have been criticised by some in recent weeks, with the debate over whether they should take a pay cut or a deferral an ongoing one.

However, the Whites moved quickly to agree a deferral and the players have also been helping out in various other ways.

That has understandably delighted Leeds fans and the local community, with one supporter taking to Twitter to thank Cooper for the way he and the team have conducted themselves in recent weeks.

And, the centre-back responded modestly this afternoon, explaining how it's the right thing to do given the position he is in.

"All in this together Peter! Every single one of us. We are in a fortunate position and that allows us to help in any way possible.. Just stay safe and Save Lives.. MOT."

The football season has been suspended for almost a month now and it remains unclear when, or if, the campaign will resume.
