It was a bitterly disappointing afternoon for Sunderland at the weekend, as the Black Cats fell to a 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth.

It was shaping up to the biggest game of the season in League One thus far, with both sides battling it out at the top of the Sky Bet League One table, in front of a sellout crowd at Fratton Park.

Sunderland, who had only lost once this season before the encounter on the South Coast, were looking to gain ground on Kenny Jackett's men - but were dealt a uphill task straight away.

After a drab first-half, the second-half immediately began with excitement - Black Cats defender Glenn Loovens was sent off for Jack Ross' men, before goals from Gareth Evans, Ronan Curtis and Ben Thompson secured a crucial 3-1 victory for Pompey.

The red card clearly set the tone for the rest of the game, and here, we take a look at Sunderland fans' reactions to Loovens' performance at the weekend...
