Nottingham Forest striker Lewis Grabban says the club must prioritise putting together a winning run, rather than maintaining their unbeaten home record, reports the Nottingham Post.

Grabban notched his first goal for the Reds in last night's much needed 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday at the City Ground and the striker is determined to make sure it is the first of many.

“We want to build on this now," Grabban told a pre-match press conference.

"We have had a stop-start type of start to the season and we need to step up now and get a run together.

"Obviously you want to win games and you would almost rather win a couple and lose the odd one if it means you collect more points."

The win against the Owls was only Aitor Karanka's second of the league season in what has been a difficult start to the season.

Forest currently sit in 11th in the Championship table after bringing in 17 new faces during the summer transfer windows.

The former Bournemouth man moved to the East Midlands from the south coast for around £6million in the summer after impressing last season with Aston Villa and Sunderland.

The club welcome Rotherham United to the City Ground on Saturday as they look to extend that unbeaten home record to six straight games this season.

The verdict

Grabban is spot on.

After the start Nottingham Forest have had a run of results is desperately needed.

Their summer of big spending led to them being made one of the favourites for promotion but are yet to perform anywhere near the standards expected of them.
