According to the Sun, Daniel Levy is to lodge a take-it-or-leave-it bid for Aston Villa's Jack Grealish as the Villans continue to struggle financially.

Villa have been in dire straits since their loss in the play-off final with it becoming clear that an era of austerity could be on the way now.

With that in mind, then, they might have to sell some of their key assets and, of course, the most valuable is surely the creative midfielder.

Indeed, according to the Daily Mail just under a week ago, Villa have been looking for £40 million for the player but it looks as though Spurs and Daniel Levy are ready to try and really knock that down.

As per the Sun, Levy is aiming to offer £15m to Villa for the player - almost two thirds less than what Villa are trying to accrue.

Levy is nothing if not one of the most astute owners around and knows that Villa may just have to take what they can with their financial woes potentially building up.

The Verdict

Levy is one of the best in the business in getting good transfer deals sewn up and it looks as though Villa might be in line to experience that next.

Levy knows they need the money and how desperate they are so he could just manage to pull off a massively cut-price deal.
