‘Letting him move on now is the right thing to do’ – Should potential Derby exit have happened sooner? Opinion

Craig Bryson’s time at Derby County seems to be coming to an end with the midfielder almost certainly leaving the Rams this summer.

Now 32, the midfielder has hardly featured this season, and a return to Scotland seems likely.

He could have left Derby last summer, which would have surely been beneficial for all parties.

Were Derby wrong to keep him for this season?

We debate…

Gary Hutchinson

“Maybe, maybe not.

“I don’t think it would make much difference.

“They’re not playing him but selling him wouldn’t have brought much money.

“It’s the least of their worries.”

Louie Chandler

“Not for me.

“I think it made sense keeping him for this season. With the youngsters coming in, keeping some of the old heads around made sense.

“But letting him move on now is the right thing to do.”

Lewis Steele

“I’m not sure.

“On the one hand, he has an experienced head which is always welcome in a fairly young side like Derby.

“On the other, he has hardly featured and may have been better off the wage bill.”
