Coventry City were rock bottom of League on March 4, 2017, after a goalless draw with Shrewsbury Town.
The next day, Russell Slade was sacked from his position as the Sky Blues’ manager with the club 13 points from safety.
After a three year absence, on March 6, 2017, Mark Robins was surprisingly re-appointed as the club’s manager.
This came after the Coventry boss left the club in 2014 for the Huddersfield Town job, three months into a three-year contract.
After 146 days in the job back - he left. And the initial reaction to his reaction was one of a sarcastic nature with the fans offering their hope that he stays with them after his previous antics.
Robins was unable to save the Sky Blues in his ten games in charge that season, winning four, drawing once and losing six as Coventry finished second-bottom and 11 points below the trap-door.
After relegation, Robins remained in charge, outlasting the fans' thoughts on his second coming.
That reaction would be proved wrong as the following year; Robins guided the Sky Blues to an immediate return to the third-tier after one season in League Two.
Coventry finished sixth in the division and qualified for the play-offs, beating Exeter City in the final at Wembley in convincing fashion to storm their way back to the third-tier.
Robins had proved supporters wrong and provided them with success and a first top-six finish for the first time in 47 years.
The reaction of the re-appointment has been proven wrong so far and hopefully; there is more to come from the Sky Blues this season in the third-tier.
