The fortunes of Leeds United were expected to change when Thomas Christiansen was relieved of his duties and replaced with Paul Heckingbottom, yet the former Barnsley man has failed to inspire his adopted squad who continue to slide down the table.

Given that a change in manager hasn't resulted in an upturn in form, perhaps blame should be placed upon the underperforming men on the pitch who can be found in abundance at Elland Road this season.

Christiansen brought many new faces to the club following his appointment last summer with many failing to make the mark the Dane and director of football Victor Orta will have expected.

Failures aplenty, this trio have particularly disappointed this semester...

Yes, the English youngster's form hasn't matched the heights he reached in his debut season, but we must not forget that the talented midfielder remains just nineteen years of age.

However, many will have expected him to push on following an excellent breakout year but performances this time out have suggested that the player's growth has certainly been stifled in the last twelve months.

Perhaps last term was a fluke, and Vieira will not live up to the heights many had hoped, but I don't think this will be the case.

The atmosphere in the Leeds dressing room has been poisonous at times which is not the ideal situation for a youngster looking to make his name so fans can expect him to return much better next year.

The former Dutch international is certain to be on a staggering wage at Elland Road and is certainly not doing a lot to suggest he is worthy of the mega-money entering his bank account on a weekly basis.

Having impressed in Holland, his release from Newcastle was expected to spark a scramble for his signature, but one failed to materialise and Leeds landed their man.

However, his wages could have been spent much more effectively in other areas of the squad, with many questioning whether the club ever needed this 'luxury' signing.

For a player with bags of experience at this level and in the Premier League, the Irish international has been seriously underwhelming in his performances this term.

His second season at the club, many will have expected O'Kane to build upon his solid start to life at Elland Road but he hasn't really established himself as the midfield force fans had hoped for, with just three assists and not a single goal all year.

When Heckingbottom looks to bring his own men in over the summer the 27-year-old should seriously begin to worry for his future in West Yorkshire, as he is hardly indispensable given his displays thus far.

Leeds fans, have this three failed to impress you?
