These are testing times down at St Andrews for Birmingham City, who have a busy few weeks ahead with Harry Redknapp now at the helm on a permanent basis.

The Blues decided to employ the former QPR boss after he guided them to safety at the end of last season- a decision that went down very well indeed with the home faithful.

But moving forward, attention must turn to improving the current crop of players that at times, didn't have nearly enough in the tank to make any sort of progress last time out.

And one line of news that hasn't gone away over the past couple of days is the potential deal that could see John Terry move to St Andrews. According to reports, Harry Redknapp was keen to bring him to St Andrews but faces big competition from big-spending Aston Villa.

Of course, Villa have a fair bit more money are their disposal than their city rivals and there's some on the Blue side of the city that would prefer to see their boss move for someone else instead.

And there's one man at the FLW we think the experienced manager should be looking at instead and that's Barnsley centre-back Marc Roberts, who has been linked with a move to St Andrews himself over the past couple of weeks.

The 26-year-old has built himself quite a reputation having moved from Halifax Town a couple of years ago- marking a rise to the top that has taken just a couple of seasons at Oakwell.

He's a commanding figure at the heart of the Tykes defence and was quickly handed the captaincy under Paul Heckingbottom having impressed.

But there's also thought amongst some Tykes fans and other supporters that Wilson has done enough once again to justify another step-up in his career.

Whether moving to St Andrews is that step-up is pure opinion but we think he'd be a better addition than John Terry in terms of potential and the money that will be spent potentially bringing him in too.
