Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that several clubs in the Sky Bet League Two have asked to finish the season, as resuming would cost them more money.

Over a month has passed since EFL fixtures were postponed. They were initially pushed back until the end of this month, but now it seems that it'll resume no earlier than the end of next month.

It's only prolonging the hardship that football clubs in the EFL will face.

A lot of teams in the EFL rely heavily on ticket sales. Particularly in League Two, or as you go further down the pyramid, teams are at greater risk of financial hardship because of their already insufficient funding.
