Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed that several clubs in the Sky Bet League Two have asked to finish the season, as resuming would cost them more money.
Over a month has passed since EFL fixtures were postponed. They were initially pushed back until the end of this month, but now it seems that it’ll resume no earlier than the end of next month.
It’s only prolonging the hardship that football clubs in the EFL will face.

A lot of teams in the EFL rely heavily on ticket sales. Particularly in League Two, or as you go further down the pyramid, teams are at greater risk of financial hardship because of their already insufficient funding.
There’s been wide discussion about how the season should be concluded, and if it should be done so at all.
Plenty of EFL fans have reacted to the update provided by Nixon, and here’s what some of them had to say:
People saying scrap this season and start a fresh are talking nonsense. The current season is of greater importance than any future season. The season has to be finished, however long that may take. Then play double game weeks next season to catch up, scrapping jpt/efl cup etc.

Id wrap it up now, the season has gone for me. I'd promote the teams in promotion positions and not relegate anyone. Play extra games next season with more relegation spots to even it up again the following season.

I don’t know why the surprised emoji. Doesn’t make sense unless you chasing promotion to fund dead rubber games with no supporters

There’s no right or wrong way of sorting this mess now. Whichever way the EFL jump will be wrong in some people’s eyes. I don’t envy them

Scrapping the season and starting afresh in September (if possible) is the only answer. If the Olympics, European Cup and Wimbledon aren't safe to go ahead in the summer, can't see why the football league should be any different.

Difficult to understand the numbers on that unless they somehow believe gate receipts are coming back soon

Let them forfeit their games then.
