A number of Bristol City supporters have been reacting to the latest report from Bristol Live suggesting that Southampton have been monitoring Daniel Bentley, Tyreeq Bakinson, Antoine Semenyo and Han-Noah Massengo.
The Robins are set to face a crucial summer transfer window while they also need to sort out the long-term future of manager Nigel Pearson. Bristol City will need to make the right additions to their squad if they are to improve on a difficult season on the Championship and they will also need to try and keep hold of some of their best players.
According to a report from Bristol Live, Southampton are interested in signing Bentley as they aim to improve their goalkeeping options and the Saints have been watching the keeper over the last few weeks. While the Premier League club have also been keeping an eye on the performances of the likes of Bakinson, Semenyo and Massengo.
The report added that there is also interest in the young trio from the likes of Wolves, Bournemouth and Norwich City. That suggests that the Robins should be braced for a hectic summer of speculation surrounding the futures of those players and will face a battle to keep them at Ashton Gate.
Many Bristol City fans were left frustrated that they are already being linked with potentially having to sell certain players from their squad. With one fan gloomily suggesting the usual summer anxieties can begin already.
Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
Semenyo and Bakinson to join the long list of players Ashton, having not actually signed them himself in the first place, has sold as soon as they got good

We never manage to keep hold of our best players, I don’t think we even try anymore so it’s better to just accept that we will never see certain players play for the club again. Let the anxieties begin

To be honest I cant see any players we have that would not be sold or let go at the right price as (apart from a few player) they are not indispensable and we need a full and total rebuild of the squad in the summer. Would hope to keep some of the young promising Players though.

Well if they have been over the last 6 matches at home then no one is going!
