Nottingham Forest's goalless draw at Ashton Gate meant they missed out on a chance to climb to fourth in the Championship, leaving many Reds fans furious at midfielder Ryan Yates following his red card.

The 22-year-old was sent off in the 34th minute against Bristol City for his challenge on Robins midfielder Adam Nagy.

Yates can have few complaints about the referee's decision as he flew in two-footed on the Hungary international.

The Englishman had an eventful first 34 minutes as he saw an effort on goal cleared off the line by Famara Diedhiou and then nearly turned Andreas Weimann's cross into his own net.

Despite playing the majority of the game with 10 men, Forest were impressive and may feel disappointed not to have left the South West with three points.

The Robins dominated possession but looked toothless in the final third, failing to register a single chance on goal.

Yates missed a large part of the start of the season due to injury and is now set for another spell on the sidelines as he will likely have to serve a three-game ban for receiving a straight red card.

It doesn't seem like he will be greatly missed as it appears his sending off has left many Forest fans frustrated.
