With a unplanned break from competitive action in the EFL due to recent events, Reading will be hoping they can build on some strong performances when football returns.

The Royals won their last two matches in the Championship before the season was called to a temporary halt amid an off-the-field crisis.

Mark Bowen's side are currently sat 15th in the second tier standings, but are just eight points adrift of the play-off places with nine games remaining of this term.

A number of players are out-of-contract at the Madejski Stadium heading into the summer though, and given their well-publicised expenditure on wages, it's likely there will be members of Bowen's squad departing the club.

One of those that is out-of-contract in the summer is Jordan Obita, with the Royals academy graduate making 22 appearances in his first season back after a lengthy injury lay-off.

He has stiff competition for his starting spot in the Reading team though, with the likes of Omar Richards catching the eye with some impressive displays of late.

Plenty of Reading supporters took to Twitter to issue their thoughts on whether Obita should be awarded a new deal heading into the summer.
