Swansea City have been handed an injury boost, with the news that Joe Rodon is progressing well in his recovery from a broken metatarsal picked up earlier this season.

Swansea boss, Graham Potter had earlier revealed that the Welshman was expected to return to the squad after the international break which will have come as a boost to Swans supporters.

But Leroy Fer has revealed that Rodon is progressing quicker than first thought, as he posted on his Instagram story, claiming that Rodon was back in training.

This update will have Swansea supporters hoping that he can return to the first-team picture in the near future as Rodon has been impressive in his breakthrough season with Potter's side.

The 21-year-old has made 23 starts for the Swans, but hasn't featured since they beat Sheffield United early into 2019, and they've had some inconsistent results since he was absent.

Fer is also currently injured, and is expected to return after the international break after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring strain in recent weeks.

Swansea will have to cope without the key duo when they take on league-leaders, Norwich City on Friday evening, in what will be one of the toughest tests of the season for the Swans.

The Verdict:

What a boost this is for Swansea.

They have badly missed Rodon since he was ruled out of action through injury and it's good to see him back in training.

He's got a bright future ahead of him and he'll be keen to pick up where he left off with a number of impressive performances.
