It has been a difficult start to life at Hull City for Leonid Slutsky, who has watched on as a number of the club’s high-profile players seek new challenges away from the KCOM Stadium.

Harry Maguire and Eldin Jakupovic have opted for a move back to the Premier League with Leicester City, whilst Curtis Davies and Tom Huddlestone have both moved to Hull’s Sky Bet Championship rivals, Derby County.

Andrew Robertson and Ahmed Elmohamady are expected to be next out of the exit door, but Slutsky is adamant no more players will be leaving Hull ahead of their Championship return and money will now be spent on new recruits.

Hull have already moved to strengthen their squad with the arrival of Ola Aina and most recently, Fraizer Campbell, who has returned to the KCOM Stadium ten years after a successful loan spell.

Reports also suggest that Hull are on the verge of signing Liverpool’s Kevin Stewart, after the two clubs agreed an £8m fee for the midfielder.

These new arrivals and potential arrivals are starting to lift the mood around the KCOM Stadium, with Hull and Slutsky finally starting to reshape their playing squad ahead their Championship return.

Whilst there is still disappointment at the number of departures and lack of arrivals, Slutsky’s persistence in the transfer market over the last few days has given Hull’s fans something to be positive about.

The recent additions of Aina and Campbell have impressed, and a player of Stewart’s potential arriving in East Yorkshire will only continue to help Hull overcome their difficult start to the summer.
