Sunderland earned a much needed 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday courtesy of two late goals.

Luke O'Nien and Aiden McGeady provided the goods as the Black Cats ended a run of four straight losses. Lee Johnson's men travel to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening hoping to bridge the gap between themselves and the play-off places.

There would have been serious questions asked from the stands and in the boardroom if Ipswich Town ran out comfortable winners on Saturday but the late show gives Sunderland some momentum going into the challenge at Shrewsbury Town.

We are predicting just the one change from the victory at the Stadium of Light at New Meadow...

Leon Dajaku replacing Nathan Broadhead is the only change, the latter has recently returned from injury and was replaced by the German with the scoreline 0-0 at the weekend.

Tom Flanagan missed out against the Tractor Boys and was replaced by Bailey Wright, the former was away on international duty with Northern Ireland in the last fortnight and may well have been first choice otherwise. It will be interesting to see if Johnson sticks with Wright or goes back to Flanagan to take on Steve Cotterill's men.

A victory at New Meadow could throw the Black Cats straight back into the mix for automatic promotion, with their games in hand, having not played in the recent international intervals, there is still plenty of time for Johnson to re-prove that he is the man to lead them to promotion this term.
