Wolves striker, Leo Bonatini celebrates his 28th birthday today, and the out-of-favour forward will be hoping that he can stake a claim for a return to the Premier League side this season.

Wolves' official Twitter account issued Bonatini their best wishes on his special day, and the 28-year-old took to Instagram to reminisce at a former goal he scored in his time with the club.

Bonatini is currently on loan with Nottingham Forest, where it was hoped that he would find the regular game time he needs at this stage of his career.

But this hasn't been the case, as the Brazilian has been limited to just five appearances in total for the Reds, and with just two starts to his name for the play-off chasing side, it's been a loan spell to forget for Bonatini.

He had previously played a crucial role in Wolves' promotion last season, when he netted 12 league goals as they clinched the Championship title.

But with Raul Jiminez arriving at the club in the summer, Bonatini saw his game time limited in the Premier League, as he made just seven substitute appearances before being loaned out to the Reds.

With the striker set to return to Molineux in the summer when his loan deal reaches a conclusion, it remains to be seen as to whether he has a long-term future at the club after a poor loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

The Verdict:

I still think he has a future at Wolves.

I was surprised to see him frozen out of the starting XI after they won promotion, and he's struggled for regular game time at Nottingham Forest this season.

He's far too good of an option to be sat on the substitutes bench, that's for sure.
