Leicester City have tailed off in recent weeks and there is an element of doubt over Claude Puel.

The French manager started well enough but it seems as though the same feeling that was at Southampton under him is now starting to infiltrate into the King Power.

Even so, the Foxes have never been under threat from relegation and so they cannot be completely down about their year.

Ambitions are raised at the club, though, and so this summer they'll be looking to add players that can get them back to European football. Players, potentially, like this man:

For sure, we know that fans will want big marquee signings but, equally, the Foxes know that they cannot blast the big six out of the water financially.

Boxing clever is what they need to do, then, and signing Davies - who has proven he's too good for the Championship at Derby - would demonstrate some of that.

With Robert Huth on the way out a new centre-half is needed to challenge Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan without breaking the bank.

And, as Burnley have shown this season, you don't always need the big bucks to assemble a European-level side.

Let's see if Leicester take note.
