Rotherham United have completed the signing of Daniel Iversen from Leicester City, with the keeper joining up for their League One campaign.

The club confirmed the news on their official site this evening and revealed that they had beaten a host of clubs in the EFL to bring in the 22-year-old who spent last season on loan at League Two Oldham.

As well as that, the stopper then represented Denmark at the U21 European Championships, keeping one clean sheet as the country won two of their three games.

Iversen's performances in the past 12 months have caught the eye, but he was realistically going to struggle to get near the Foxes team with Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Ward ahead of him in the pecking order in the east Midlands.

So, another loan was always on the cards and he will be linking up with Paul Warne's side as they prepare for life in the third tier once again following their relegation from the Championship.

He could be involved tomorrow as Rotherham host West Brom in a pre-season friendly.

The Verdict

This is a very good signing for the Millers and it is a real coup for Warne ahead of the new season.

Bringing in a keeper was a priority and Iversen was clearly the number one target for the club this summer so everyone connected to the recruitment team should be pleased at this news.

Now, it's down to the new signing to get to know his teammates and he will be relishing the chance to impress moving forward.

For Leicester, they will be interested to see how Iversen copes at a higher level so it's a move that suits all parties.
