Premier League Leicester City are considering making a move for Coventry star Tom Bayliss, who has enjoyed a real breakthrough season with the Sky Blues.

The midfielder burst into the first-team this season and made 27 appearances as City won promotion back to League One, scoring six goals.

They did so through the play-offs and the 19-year old was crucial in those games, scoring in the 4-1 win at Notts County that secured their place at Wembley before playing well in the final.

With great technique and a fine ability to beat players, the teenager has caught the eye this season. And, talkSPORT presenter Geoff Peters has revealed that Bayliss is on the radar of the Foxes.

Even though Coventry have won promotion to the third tier, the prospect of joining a Premier League club is still sure to really appeal to the player, who was born in Leicester.

Yet, Mark Robins will hope the chance to play regularly will ensure Coventry can keep hold of one of their outstanding young talents.

The Verdict

Anybody who has watched Coventry this season will have immediately noticed Bayliss who is a very classy player and has a lot of potential.

Therefore, it's not surprising to see that top-flight clubs are monitoring his situation however you would think staying with the newly-promoted side is the best thing for his career development.

He is by no means the finished article and playing regularly would enhance his game as opposed to playing for Leicester's U23s but ultimately money talks and if the Foxes want the player they could well get him.
