Leicester City are set to announce the signing of Luton Town full-back, James Justin, according to a recent report from the Daily Mail.
Justin was a standout performer for Luton last season, as they won promotion into the Championship, in an impressive league campaign for the Hatters.
The 19-year-old made 43 appearances in that promotion-winning campaign, and he put in a number of performances that have caught the eye.
Leicester’s reported interest in landing his signature is no secret, and they’ll be pleased to seemingly get this deal over the line heading into pre-season.
Leicester will be hoping to build on some impressive performances towards the back end of last season when they get their pre-season plans underway.
Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that Justin can force his way into the starting XI at the earliest of opportunities, although there will be some doubts as to whether he’s capable of adjusting to the step to the Premier League.
Only time will tell as to whether he can do that, but if he can build on the showings for Luton last season, then he could be a key player for the Foxes in the future.
I think this is a shrewd signing by the Foxes ahead of the new season.
It’s always a risk signing a player from the lower leagues though, but I think he could thrive under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers in the Premier League.
If he can build on the impressive performances he had previously shown for Luton last season, then he’ll prove the Leicester boss with a welcome selection headache.
