Leicester City are the new odds-on favourites to sign Hull City’s Harry Maguire this summer, with SkyBet pricing the defender at 1/5 to make the move to the King Power Stadium later this summer.

Maguire is set to leave the KCOM Stadium over the summer, following Hull’s relegation into the Sky Bet Championship, and Leicester are now favourites to sign the central-defender, moving ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the betting market.

Craig Shakespeare, who has recently been appointed as Leicester’s permanent manager, is looking to add central defenders to his squad to compete with Wes Morgan and Robert Huth, who are both well into their thirties.

Despite Hull’s relegation from the Premier League last season, Maguire, 24, impressed at the KCOM Stadium, making 29 appearances and picking up the club’s player of the season award.

Losing Maguire will be a blow for Hull, who are preparing for another season in the Championship, particularly after the defender was so influential for the Tigers during the 2015/16 campaign.

That season, Maguire made 24 Championship appearances, including the play-off final, as Hull achieved promotion back to the Premier League via a play-off victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Hull were led by Steve Bruce that season, but are now heading into the Championship under the leadership of Leonid Slutsky, who has recently been appointed.
