Leicester City are reportedly eyeing up a move for Leeds United talisman Kalvin Phillips if they lose Wilfried Ndidi this summer.

Phillips has been fantastic over the past two seasons for the Whites and has taken his game up a level since the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa.

The 24-year-old has featured 34 times for Leeds this term, helping them to concede the fewest goals in the Championship and climb to the top of the table.

The midfielder's performances appear to have turned the heads of a number of top flight sides, including both Liverpool and Manchester United, are thought to be keen on signing him this summer.

It seems we can now add Leicester to that list as, according to Bleacher Report's Dean Jones, the Foxes are monitoring Phillips and see him as a replacement for Ndidi.

The Nigerian has been excellent for the Premier League side this season and has reportedly drawn the attention of some of England's biggest clubs, with Manchester United and Arsenal linked with a move.

It is understood that the Whites rejected a number of offers for Phillips last summer and, at this point, it looks likely they will have their resolve tested again in the upcoming window.

The Verdict

The growing Premier League interest in Phillips is no surprise given his impressive performances over the past few years and it is interesting to see Leicester join the race.

The King Power outfit could be a good fit for the 24-year-old but at this point, it's difficult to him leaving the Whites unless a huge offer comes in.

The midfielder is a boyhood Leeds fan and is a real fan favourite at Elland Road. The Whites look on course to return to the Premier League this season, you'd imagine it will take an awful lot to convince him not to stay with them for their first term back in the top flight.
