Norwich City star James Maddison is a summer transfer target for Leicester City, according to The Daily Mail.

Maddison is a man in-demand this summer with a number of Premier League sides chasing his signature.

The England under-21 international weighed in with 15 goals and eight assists last season, making him one of the most dangerous midfielders in the Championship.

The former Coventry City youth product has thrived in his midfield role for the Canaries and now a host of Premier League clubs are after him, including Leicester.

As well as Claude Puel's men, Maddison is also wanted by Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 21-year-old is considered to be one of England's best young talents outside of the Premier League and Norwich face a real battle to keep their prize asset this summer.

The Foxes are clearly looking to add to their attacking midfield ranks to provide competition for the likes of Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton as well as replacing Riyad Mahrez, who is surely heading for the exit door this summer.

As well as Maddison, they have also cast their eye over Manchester City's Patrick Roberts and Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, according to this report.

The Verdict

Maddison would be an excellent addition for Leicester because he is already at a standard where he can play a starring role in their team and he is still so young.

From a young age at Coventry, it was clear that this boy had a special talent and his range of passing, his skill on the ball and his ability from set-pieces make him such a lethal threat from midfield.

The youngster is surely destined for the top and Leicester would be foolish to pass up the opportunity to replace Mahrez with him.
