Premier League clubs Leicester City and Aston Villa are chasing experienced Norwich midfielder Wes Hoolahan, according to the Daily Star.
Newly-promoted Leicester have reportedly prepared a £2 million bid for the Republic of Ireland international as they look to strengthen the squad ahead of their first season back in the Premier League for over a decade.
Aston Villa are also interested and are said to be favourites to land the player.
Villa boss Paul Lambert worked with Hoolahan at Norwich and is keen to link back up with the 32-year-old, who has made over 200 appearances for the Canaries since joining in 2008.
Lambert made an approach for Hoolahan last January in a move which prompted the player to make a formal transfer request – which was promptly rejected by the club along with Villa’s enquiry.
The former Blackpool man has made it known to the Norwich hierarchy that he does not wish to play in The Championship and will seek a move to another club in order to remain a Premier League player.
He has one year left to run on his contract and Norwich may look to cash in on the player rather than lose him for nothing next summer.
