On Saturday the 15th of March, the Foxes were up against Blackpool at the King Power Stadium, in an attempt to stretch their unbeaten run in the Championship to 15 games.
Leicester started the game with great passion and were creating chances left, right and centre. Unfortunately, the prolific Jamie Vardy couldn’t take these chances and against the run of play, in the 41st minute, Blackpool’s David Goodwille made Leicester pay for all their missed chances, and the Foxes went in at half time one nil down.
Leicester were very flat at the start of the second half and couldn’t find a gap in Blackpool’s stubborn defence. It looked increasingly likely that only a piece of magic could bring Leicester back into the game, and in the 60th minute, Leicester winger Mahrez cut inside and from around 20 yards out, fired a rocket of a shot into the top left corner to draw the hosts level!
From this point on, Leicester controlled the game and in the 82nd minute, Mahrez worked a bit of space and floated a perfect ball into the box, and it was met by the head of Foxes’ captain Wes Morgan! Then in 87th minute, Kevin Phillips wrapped the game up with a decent finish, rifling into the net.
So once again Leicester win at home, and pronotion almost looks a certainty.
