Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Paolo Di Canio back to Hillsborough today, with the ex-Owl interviewed around the ground.

Di Canio represented the Owls when they were a Premier League side, with Wednesday offering the Italian his first steps in the English game in August 1997.

In 41 Premier League appearances, he scored 15 goals, and famously pushed referee, Paul Alcock, to the ground after receiving a red card in a game against Arsenal, which proved to be his final outing in the blue and white of Wednesday.

He left Hillsborough for West Ham in 1999, really making a name for himself in the English game whilst at Upton Park.

A spell at Charlton Athletic would follow and Di Canio would go on to manage Sunderland in the Premier League.

And, after Wednesday shared footage of him back around Hillsborough, there was a mixed response from supporters.

Some pointed to his errors in an Owls shirt, whilst others were in awe looking back on his spell.
