Norwich City took the spoils at the weekend when their win over Leeds United took them above the Whites at the top of the Championship, as we head into the final third of the season.
The result also marked Canaries striker Teemu Pukki’s 19th goal of the season in all competitions, taking him five goals clear of his Leeds striking rival Kemar Roofe.
So then, if Leeds fans had the chance to swap Roofe for Teemu Pukki, would they?
“Yes, but I don’t think Norwich would play ball.
“Pukki has a unique set of attributes that don’t align with many other Championship strikers.
“I saw him in pre-season and wasn’t impressed but he’s proven me wrong.
“Leeds would have him all day long.”
“I’d jump at the chance if I was a Leeds supporter.
“Even though Roofe is an excellent option to have up-front, I think that Pukki is the more well-rounded option to have in attack.
“I would be swapping him for Pukki as he would be exactly what Leeds have been crying out for in recent weeks.”
“It’s tough to say because Roofe has been excellent for Leeds this season and scored a lot of goals.
“Of course, he hasn’t scored as many as Pukki, but his general play has been good too.
“I think sometimes a player just fits at a club and that is what has happened with Pukki at Norwich. I’m not sure he’d be having this influence elsewhere.”
“Kemar Roofe is a good finisher, but Pukki is the complete forward.
“His runs and conversion rate is phenomenal.
“He scores all types of goals and has been consistent.
“Roofe to me is a mood player, and if things aren’t going well, he will go hiding.
“Pukki is up for the fight and comes alive in the area – that is what you want.”
