Leeds United face a crucial summer transfer window if they are to mount another challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

And a new target emerged on Friday with the Irish Sun reporting that they are interested in taking Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers on loan.

Travers played in the Cherries final two matches of the Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace but is yet to be told of his ranking in the club's pecking order for next season.

As a result, he is apparently considering a loan move away from the Vitality, alerting Mareclo Bielsa and Leeds as well as newly promoted Norwich City.

But would this be a good signing for the Whites?

We discuss...

Jacob Potter

"Do they need him?

"There's no doubting that Travers is a goalkeeper with a bright future ahead of him, and Leeds would do well to sign him from Bournemouth.

"But they already have a goalkeeper with as much potential as him in Bailey Peacock-Farrell and I think they need to give the Northern Irishman a chance before signing another young goalkeeper.

"Their money would be better spent elsewhere."

Toby Wilding

"I think this could be a good signing for Leeds.

"Travers clearly has plenty of potential, as shown by his brief appearances in the Premier League towards the end of the season, he is still young however, so you wonder whether Leeds will want to be the club where he learns about both making and recovering from high profile errors.

"Given there is still some uncertainty around the future of Asmir Begovic at Bournemouth, it is possible they will not be all that willing to let Travers go until they are able to bring in a new alternative to Begovic."

Kealan Hughes

"Travers showed in his two Premier League games last season that he is a great shot-stopper.

"However he is still young and there are areas of his game which need improving, such as his decision-making.

"It could be a good signing but is still a bit of a strange one. Leeds already have a young, promising keeper who is permanent contracted in Bailey Peacock-Farrell, and he deserves a chance ahead of Travers."

Tommy Joyce

"The signing of Mark Travers would be an interesting one for Leeds, especially considering the goalkeeper dilemma they have going on right now.

"It seems that unless they are signing a keeper to be number 2, they are likely to lose both Peacock-Farrell and Casilla in the summer.

"Personally I don't think it would be a particularly wise signing, considering the disruption it could cause. Travers is inexperienced and hasn't played in the Championship before. Baring in mind the pressure he could be put under if Leeds are pushing for promotion then I think they would be better off buying an alternate choice or playing Peacock-Farrell."
