Two of the biggest names in the English game go head-to-head this weekend as Leeds United welcome Nottingham Forest to Elland Road.
With both harbouring serious promotion ambitions this season, too, it should be a closely-fought game as Marcelo Bielsa and Aitor Karanka face-off.
Ahead of the clash, then, we once again caught up with Tom Bradley from I’d Radebe Leeds to preview things from a Whites perspective…
A return to winning ways against Ipswich this week – did we see signs of the Leeds at the start of the season returning?
We saw signs of what we had produced earlier on in the season when people were standing up and taking notice. That was largely due to the return of Pablo Hernandez. What a player.
Gaetano Berardi is out after coming off early against Ipswich, whilst Pontus Jansson is back from suspension – how will Bielsa’s defence look against Forest?
Kalvin Phillips was absolutely superb at centre back against Ipswich, so I hope we get to see him there again. It will be a back three with two wing backs. Aside from Berardi it should be the same line-up at the back if everyone else is fit enough.
Both Leeds and Forest have promotion aspirations this season – which of the Reds’ players do Leeds need to give most attention to?
Joe Lolley is the standout player for me. He was a bargain from Huddersfield in my opinion, and he is shining in a strong Forest side. He’s got a great shot on him and can cause defences serious headaches. He’s my one-to-watch for this game.
And, on a more general basis, where will this game be one and lost given the two manager’s established playing styles?
If we tick, nobody will stop us, including Forest. Our biggest obstacle will be the organisation at the back for Karanka’s side and their ability to counter-attack when we got caught up top. I don’t think many goals will come, but if we attack like we can, we will nick the win.
