Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts has posted an update on social media, after he was named in the Wales squad for the forthcoming international break.

The 20-year-old was an important player for Leeds in the Championship last season, but he missed the start of the current campaign through injury.

Roberts made only his second appearance of the season for Leeds against West Brom on Tuesday night, but he was substituted in the second half, half an hour after coming on as a substitute at half-time.

The forward has been named in Ryan Giggs' Wales squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Slovakia and Croatia this month though and took to social media express his joy at being called up.

After being named in the squad, Roberts posted a message on his personal Instagram story, admitting that it felt good to be selected for his country again.

Roberts was an important player Leeds in the Championship last season and scored three goals in 28 league appearances for the Whites, although he missed the end of the campaign due to injury.

The forward has made six appearances for his country so far in his career and will be hoping to add to his international caps over the next couple of weeks.

The Verdict

This is great news for Roberts. After missing the start of the season through injury, being selected to represent his country again will be a huge boost for his confidence.

The forward was extremely disappointed after being substituted just half an hour after coming on against West Brom on Tuesday night and this could be exactly what he needs.

Roberts will be hoping that he gets the chance to play for Wales in the upcoming qualifiers and will be determined to make an impact for his country if he does get a chance on the pitch.
