Leeds United are looking set to win promotion back into the top-flight under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.

The Yorkshire-based side are sat top of the Championship with nine games still to play, but are seven points clear of third-placed Fulham in the table.

One player that has played a key role for Leeds in their push for a long-awaited promotion into the Premier League this season is Stuart Dallas.

The Northern Irish international has made 38 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa's men this term, and has chipped in with three goals and one assist in all competitions to date.

Speaking in an interview with Leeds' official website, Dallas revealed which Liverpool legends he looked up to growing up as a player.

"I used to support Liverpool when I was growing up because my dad supported Liverpool and my brother supported Rangers, so it would be between the two.

"Robbie Fowler and Steven Gerrard when they were playing purely because they played for Liverpool, but I wouldn’t say a hero as such."

The Verdict:

Both Fowler and Gerrard were brilliant in their time with Liverpool, and are players that will be remembered for their contributions to the Reds during their playing careers.

Dallas will be keen to win promotion into the top-flight this term and have the chance to take on Liverpool next season with Leeds.

The midfielder will be hoping he can continue to impress for Leeds this season, in the hope that they can hold their nerve in the race for promotion into the Premier League.

It'll be interesting to see how much he'll feature in the starting XI if the Whites do make a long-awaited return to the top-flight though, as I can see Bielsa adding reinforcements to his squad in the summer.
