Leeds United’s move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Rajiv van La Parra is “100% off”, according to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay.
In a Tweet posted to inform fans of the Yorkshire club during transfer deadline day, the journalist has stated that the club won’t be signing the Wolves winger.
The 24-year-old has scored just two goals in 43 appearances for Wolves, but Leeds United were looking to sign the attacker in an attempt to bolster their squad as the season progresses. However, the deal is now off as Leeds look elsewhere for further improvements.
Leeds are now showing an interest in Nottingham Forest winger Jamie Paterson who has struggled to get his chance at the City Ground since his impressive spell under Billy Davies.
However, the youngster has attracted interest from Huddersfield recently as he looks to gain first-team football in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Yorkshire rivals now look as if they’re going head-to-head to capture the Forest wide-man, who clearly has a lot of talent and potential as his career develops – It could prove to be a busy day in Yorkshire as the closure of the window draws closer.
Leeds United were also interested in signing Sunderland winger Will Buckley, but again, a deal for the wide man appears to have fallen through as Uwe Rosler looks to improve a promising Leeds side.
