It has emerged from a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds United’s move for Oxford United’s Kemar Roofe could potentially be in jeopardy.
It is apparent that Garry Monk has identified that Leeds United’s main weakness is a lack of goals, having scored only 50 goals in 46 Championship matches and being prime for using your Bet365 bonus code on under 2.5 goals.
Leeds United have been linked with a number of attacking options including Manchester United’s Ashley Fletcher who is set to leave the Premier League club at the end of the month, and Oxford United’s Kemar Roofe.
The League Two player of the year has been attracting attention from a number of Championship and Premier League sides, however, early reports suggested that Leeds United were favourites.
However, reports now suggest that Oxford United value Kemar Roofe at £3 million and the large fee for an unknown albeit talented player is a huge stumbling block for the West Yorkshire club, who are unwilling to pay such a large fee for an unknown entity at Championship level.
Unless Oxford United lower their valuation of Kemar Roofe, it is looking unlikely that the West Yorkshire club will be willing to pay such a large fee for the 23-year-old.
With Marcus Antonsson likely to join from Kalmar FF in Sweden and potentially Ashley Fletcher if Leeds United can beat a whole host of Championship clubs to his signature, they may opt against taking the risk for Kemar Roofe.
Leeds United fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you like to see Kemar Roofe join Leeds United? Is he worth £3 million? If he was to join, do you think he would be a success or a failure?
