Interest from Leeds United in Daniel James has seemingly been confirmed, with a file pictured on Marcelo Bielsa’s desktop when he was addressing the media this evening.

Leeds’ head-coach has been the centre of the ‘spygate’ storm this week, with the Argentine addressing the media on the topic this afternoon, where he went into detail about how he prepares his side.

However, in addition to that, Bielsa appears to have confirmed Leeds’ interest in Daniel James, with reliable journalist Alan Nixon picking up on a file with the winger’s name on.

An additional picture has been shared circling the file.

The reliable journalist broke the news on Sunday that Leeds were indeed interested in a deal for James, as Bielsa looks to boost his attacking options between now and the end of the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has featured on 16 occasions in the Championship this season, scoring one goal and registering three assists for the inconsistent Swans.

He’s also worked his way into Ryan Giggs’ plans for the Welsh national side, with his electric pace making him a real threat.

Leeds are on the lookout for new attacking midfielders this month having lost both Samu Saiz and Lewis Baker in the transfer window. That has forced Pablo Hernandez to vacate his wide position to move centrally.

The Verdict

Bielsa is likely to have many files like this, but this leak does confirm that the Whites have an interest in Swansea’s winger.

James is someone that fits what Bielsa wants in a player, he’s direct, fast and has bags of potential at the age of 21.

It’ll be interesting to see if this develops in the coming weeks.
