It would seem to a thoroughly mixed pre-season for Thomas Christiansen’s new side having been triumphant in their initial three outings, but a dismal two defeats and one draw since.
The Leeds United boss has been unexpectedly busy in the transfer window this summer after bringing in no less than eight new first-team additions, it is unquestionable as to what the club’s ambitions are this coming campaign.
Several handfuls of supporters would still like to see another centre-half come in before the window shuts this month and that is why it could be a wise move to swing in for Brentford skipper Harlee Dean, rated at £850,000 by Transfermarkt.
The 26-year-old is a firm fan favourite at Griffin Park, however, if he dreams of plying himself in the top-flight then a switch to Elland Road would be a wise decision.
Dean’s been a figure at Brentford since 2012 when he joined from Southampton, following an impressive loan stint in the capital, and has accumulated over 200 appearances for the Championship outfit in the last five years.
His imposing displays last term earned him the supporters’ Player of the Season award for his efforts – helping guide the Bees to a top-half Championship finish.
Leeds United’s defence will be requiring an abundance of leadership for the upcoming season, and there is no reason as to why Harlee Dean doesn’t possess that having carried the armband for Brentford for twelve months.
The Whites already have the imposing Pontus Jansson, alongside either Liam Cooper or the loanee of Matthew Pennington, and Dean has enough in his locker to form a formidable partnership with Christiansen’s Swedish talisman.
