It’s certainly a case of dusting themselves down and going again next season for Leeds United.

The Whites missed out on promotion to the Premier League in heartbreaking fashion this season, sparking an air of uncertainty going into the summer with Marcelo Bielsa’s future up in the air.

It seems as if a decision on the Argentine’s future will be made sooner rather than later, with reports going as far as saying that the experienced coach has already discussed plans with Victor Orta for next season.

And, the latest reports claim that Leeds are set to reignite interest in PSG forward Jese Rodriguez in the summer, after a turbulent season of his own.

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with an audacious move to Elland Road in January having fallen massively out of favour under Thomas Tuchel in France, but ultimately opted to sign for Real Betis on loan.

But, two goals in 18 appearances later, and Rodriguez returns to PSG having failed to set the world alight in La Liga, with a summer edit looking ever more likely for the former Real Madrid wonderkid.

Nevertheless though, signing a player of Rodriguez’ pedigree and quality would be a massive statement of intent by Leeds - the winger came through the ranks at the Bernabeu, making over 80 appearances for the Spanish giants, before sealing a £21million move to Paris in 2016.

Over the last few years, loan moves to Las Palmas and Stoke City have failed to reignite his once promising career, but he is exactly the type of player that would thrive under Bielsa

He is also a type of player that Leeds are craving in their squad - a player that can play anywhere across the front line, pick the ball up from deep, and drive at defenders with real pace and power.

And, with Manchester United set to win the race for Swansea City star Dan James, Leeds will have to look elsewhere this summer as they look to bring a new winger.

Signing Kiko Casilla from Real Madrid was big enough itself, but this would be a massive coup for Leeds ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
