Leeds United are having a storming season so far, second in the Championship just one point behind Norwich City who sit atop the summit of the division ahead of the busy festive period.

Marcelo Bielsa has recently left Samuel Siaz out of the side due to a dip in his own form despite starting in the middle of a four, last weekend.

But with his recent absence from the first-team, it has called into question his future at Elland Road.

And Saiz is reportedly pushing for an exit from the club with La Liga side Getafe said to be interested – and if reports are to be believed, Saiz is keen on a move away.

The bombshell came on Thursday evening and indeed came as a surprise to Leeds’ fans, who have a soft spot for the 27-year-old.

A January move away could be on the cards, and if it comes about – Leeds would actually be a better team.

Saiz has failed to score in a league game in 13 months in what has been an inconsistent spell at the club.

Flattering to deceive at times, the midfielder has managed five goals in 52 appearances since moving from Huesca back in 2017.

At times he has been unplayable, but other times his selection is called into question.

He has 11 assists to his name in that time too which is a marginal improvement to his scoring exploits, but Leeds under Bielsa could well do better than the incumbent of the number 14 shirt.

Allowing Saiz to leave would open up the chances of young Jack Clarke to play somewhat more regularly than he already has.

The sale will bring in some decent money, too, as he still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal.

So, there would be money in the bank and a young player flourishing and based on Saiz's form and stats, he wouldn’t be too much of a miss.

If Clarke gets to play more, he can learn from Bielsa and become an even better player than what Siaz’s ability is currently at.

Yet to start of Leeds this season, if the 18-year-old can play to the level the fans are anticipating he can reach, then the future bodes well.

And if a regular berth for Clarke isn’t forthcoming, the funds raised by Saiz’s sale will be more than enough to go out and look for a player that could make them a better side.

And statistically speaking, there are a plethora of players out there that are better than the wantaway midfielder.

Leeds aren’t reliant on Siaz, and would potentially be a better, more balanced side without him.
