Leeds United weighing up shock move for experienced Premier League midfielder

Leeds United are keen on a move for Sunderland’s Swedish midfielder Sebastian Larsson, according to reports via Chronicle live

As Sam Allardyce begins preparations for next season, one player that is looking certain to leave the Premier League side this summer is Sebastian Larsson.

The 31-year-old midfielder may leave the North East side this summer in search of regular playing time.

Reports suggest Leeds United are showing an early interest in the midfielder as Garry Monk is reportedly keen on signing the Swedish international.

It appears that Garry Monk’s recruitment strategy is a blend of talented young players such as Kemar Roofe and Ashley Fletcher that he can mould and develop, as well as older experienced heads that can lead by example and provide leadership on the field with Sebastian Larsson falling into the latter category.

If Leeds were to attempt to sign Larsson, it would have to be delayed and potentially a late summer signing as he is currently part of the Sweden squad at the European Championships in France.

Leeds fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you be pleased by the signing of Larsson? Is the central midfield position, a position that needs strengthening? What do you make of Monk’s recruitment strategy so far? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
