Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old Norweigan winger Emil Bohinen.

The Whites have made a slow start to the January transfer window and are yet to make signing with 20 days gone.

The only movement at Elland Road has been the exits of loanees Eddie Nketiah and Jack Clarke, who have both been recalled by their parent clubs.

It is understood that the Whites are keen on bringing in a replacement for Nketiah and Clarke, this month, as well as signing a goalkeeper to provide cover for Kiko Casilla's potential ban.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have turned their attention to Bohinen, who currently plays for Eliteserien club Stabæk.

The 20-year-old is capable of playing in both central midfield and on the wing, which means the club may be eyeing him up as a replacement for Clarke.

Bohinen made 31 appearances for Stabæk last season, scoring four goals and providing eight assists, and has developed through Norway's age-group sides–most recently featuring for the U21s.

The Norweigan, whose current contract expires in December 2020, has previously been linked to Premier League side Sheffield United.

The Verdict

This looks like an interesting one for Leeds but likely not the move that many fans will have been hoping for.

Leeds have looked short in both midfield and on the flanks this season, so the addition of Bohinen makes a lot of sense.

Additionally, the way Bielsa has favoured players like Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling hints at his respect for versatility, which makes the 20-year-old an understandable target.

However, you can't help but feel that the Whites need a more impactful attacking addition before the end of the month.
