Leeds United transfer target reveals move ambitions

Leeds United transfer target Leo Stulac has big aspirations, claiming he wants to sign for a “world class” team.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reported that the Whites are interested in luring the midfielder away from Serie B side Venezia.

In an interview with La Nuova di Venezia, Stulac stated:

“I’m happy with what I have, but like all players, my dream would be to reach a world-class club. I do not delude myself, today is already a great thing to wear the shirt of Venezia and I will try to do my best for this shirt. Getting to Serie A with Venezia would be great. I do not know the future. Real Madrid, who would not want it?

“In January I had the chance to go to another club, but I chose to stay and I did well. My club is Venezia.”

The deep-lying midfield man has one year left on his contract at the Italian side, but Leeds will be looking to get the 23-year-old signed up immediately.

Leo Stulac has played 20 times for Venezia this season, who are currently trying to secure a play-off spot, sitting in fifth place at present. Promotion could persuade Stulac to reject Leeds’ advances.

The Verdict

With six goals in 20 league appearances from a central defensive midfield position for Venezia, Leeds United should throw everything they have got to sign the youngster.

While he may not be a household name, Leeds are in dire need of an overhaul of players this summer, and that will involve bringing in fresh, young talent, like Leo Stulac.

With this kind of ambition, though, Leeds would quickly need to get themselves out of the Championship in order to keep him long-term, you feel.
