Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in the Championship, and on top of that they are tipped for another promotion push after a good campaign last time round.

Naturally then, they are linked with a host of names this summer. Some have already been ruled out, such as Bristol City's Callum O'Dowda, but with a number of fringe players moving on there will surely be several arrivals this window.

Chairman Andrea Radrizzani warned of a difficult summer ahead, which means they could miss out on some potential targets, or perhaps switch Leeds' focus to loan players.

One area of the squad they seemed determined to improve is right-wing. The end of Jack Harrison's loan means there is a place available in that position in the squad, and the club has reportedly wasted little time in addressing the issues, with a few targets already lined up.

The club will need to strengthen in a number of ways if they are to achieve promotion next time round. Currently, they lack strength in depth and this will need to be improved if Leeds are going to avoid a repeat of last year's failure when they collapsed late on.

Here is a look at some of the players rumoured to be on Leeds' radar.

Jamal Lowe

The talented right-winger took like a duck to water when he made the step up from non-league to join Portsmouth in 2017. Since then he has made 103 appearances for Pompey and scored 26 goals, including 15 last season in League One.

Leeds aren't the only team interested, unsurpsringly. They're in a tussle with fellow Championship clubs Cardiff and Wigan.

Lowe has just 12 months remaining on his contract, and Portsmouth reportedly want £2 million if they're to let him go. It remains to be seen if Leeds are willing to meet that price, and wether they believe it is too risky a signing to bring in compared to other targets.

Dwight Gayle

The striker is another target who is attracting interest from elsewhere in the division. He struck 24 times in the Championship last season for West Brom, who decided not to make his deal permanent last month.

He would be a great option for Leeds up front. Last year they lacked a natural poacher like him, but it could prove difficult bringing him in.

He is on a Premier League wage at Newcastle - reportedly £55,000 a week - and The Magpies are said to want around £15 million for him, which Leeds simply cannot afford unless they sell key players.

Helder Costa

This is a transfer rumour which should really excite Leeds fans, and it could be financially viable as a loan deal.

Costa was one of the best players in the Championship when he formed part of Wolves' title winning side in 2018. They spent £13 million on him ahead of that season, which underlines how highly rated he is.

Leeds are in need of a pacy right winger, and Costa would provide that and act as a constant threat. He loves to get behind defences and would be perfect foil for Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe.

Matt Clarke

Leeds could be in need of a defender if Pontus Jansson leaves for Benfica. Clearly Leeds fans would be sad to see him go but Matt Clarke would be a more than adequate replacement.

He was a big reason behind Pompey's success this season, which is why they reportedly want £4 million for him.

That seems like a hefty price for a defender, and a player who has never played regularly above League One level. It shows how important he is to his club. He is strong in the air but can also play too, so he would really suit Bielsa's Leeds.

Brandon Barker

Leeds could replace one Man City winger with another, following the end of Jack Harrison's loan spell.

Barker spent part of last season on loan at Preston, but is still somewhat of an unknown entity at this level. Leeds are interested in taking the 22-year-old on loan, and if he does well the club could snatch him on a free with his contract due to run out next summer.

He would offer Leeds a direct style, and his pace can be a nightmare for defenders. He would be a very good option from the bench when Leeds find themselves behind in games.

Hosam Aiesh

Aiesh is another unknown on this list, and news of Leeds targeting him would have come as a surprise to many fans.

Bielsa has been out in Sweden to watch him play for Ostersunds, whilst also casting an eye over their striker Dino Islamovic.

Ostersunds do not want to sell the player. They reportedly rejected a £2 million bid for him earlier this year so it would take more than that to make him a Leeds player.
