West Bromwich Albion are hopeful of making a breakthrough in their pursuit of Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor this week, and are keen to reopen discussions with Andrea Radrizzani, reports the Express and Star.

Taylor is out-of-contract at Elland Road this summer, and is almost certain to be on his way out of Leeds in the coming months, however, the Whites are entitled to compensation for their academy graduate.

Discussions between West Brom and Leeds were held earlier this month, but the two clubs failed to agree on the compensation fee for Taylor, which has left a potential deal hanging in the balance.

Should West Brom fail to reach a deal with Leeds, a tribunal process could be used to agree a fee for Taylor, which Tony Pulis admitted could put the Baggies out of the race to sign the 23-year old.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have also confirmed that West Brom have been told to meet Leeds’ valuation of Taylor, otherwise risk going to a tribunal to sign the left-back.

Pulis fears that the Baggies will have to pay “an extraordinary amount of money” to bring Taylor to the Hawthorns at a tribunal, despite personal terms close to being agreed between the club and players representatives.
