Leeds United have reportedly sent out scouts to monitor Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne ahead of a January move, according to reports from Turkish-Football.

The 26-year old is currently the Turkish League's top goalscorer with an impressive seven goals to his name in just five appearances this season, and the Whites have reportedly sent scouts over to Turkey to monitor the striker's progress ahead of a winter move.

The Senegalese striker has netted a phenomenal 19 goals in 22 appearances for the Turkish outfit following his arrival on a free contract in January, and was subject to interest from the Whites in the summer, with Bournemouth and Hull City also reportedly vying for his signature.

The trio of clubs also reportedly entered talks with Diagne's agent Ediz Balkin in the summer, but to no avail as the 6-foot-2 striker continues his fine scoring run in Turkey.

Leeds are in need of a striker following injuries to Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford, the latter faces a spell on the sidelines up until Christmas following his summer arrival from Middlesbrough for £7 million.

The Verdict

It seems that Diagne is absolutely dominating the Turkish League at present, and his goalscoring record for Kasimpasa looks incredible.

If Leeds can tempt the Senegalese striker with a move to Elland Road in January, it could prove to be one of the shrewdest pieces of business from any club this season.
