It’s been a quiet transfer window for Leeds United on the whole, with Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta choosing not to throw the chequebook around in a bid to help the Whites over the line in the race for promotion.

Leeds’ style under Bielsa’s management isn’t to do that, with the Argentinian coach choosing instead to work with players he inherited and improve them, whilst also putting his faith in youth and blooding them at an early age.

Yesterday, we saw another exciting youngster added to the Elland Road setup, with Mateusz Bogusz agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal with Leeds, linking up with Carlos Corberan’s under-23s initially.

Victor Orta, Leeds’ Director of Football, was pictured alongside Bogusz after his signing was announced, with the Spaniard likely to have played a big part in convincing the attacking midfielder to come to Elland Road.

For supporters, they must be excited to see if Orta has unearthed another gem in Bogusz, with a look at his highlights reel on YouTube suggesting Leeds have a real talent on their hands.

Bogusz might’ve been playing in the lower leagues in Poland, but you can tell he’s a technically gifted player, with good vision, close ball control and an eye for goal. In many ways, he’s similar to Leeds’ Mateusz Klich, his fellow countryman.

Of course, the 17-year-old is early in his career and adapting to English football might be difficult. Jay-Roy Grot’s YouTube highlights were impressive, but he never made the grade at Elland Road.

However, under the coaching umbrella of Bielsa, Bogusz could develop into an excellent attacking midfielder, with the Polish youngster having the skill set to thrive under the 63-year-old.

Should Leeds land reported target Daniel James in the next 48 hours, Bogusz’s signing might slip under the radar, but in years to come, with the right coaching, the midfielder could prove to be an excellent addition at Elland Road.
