Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe will miss Wednesday night's play-off semi-final second-leg against Derby County, reports Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Post.

Roofe scored the winner during the Whites' 1-0 win at Pride Park on Saturday evening in the first-leg but Bielsa has now revealed that he picked up a calf injury during the match.

It means that Patrick Bamford, whose suspension for successful deception of a match official has now ended, is set to step in his place for the crucial clash at Elland Road.

The Leeds boss also confirmed that Adam Forshaw, Tyler Roberts and Gjanni Alioski would also all definitely miss the clash whilst Pontus Jansson continues to be monitored after missing the first leg.

After a closely thought first half at Pride Park, Leeds took the lead just after the hour mark when Jack Harrison's excellent pass was slotted home by Roofe.

The visitors survived immense pressure, some penalty controversy and got away with a red-card decision before the final whistle finally blew.

The verdict

This is a definite blow for the Whites.

Roofe seems to be Derby's kryptonite, having scored four times against them already this season, so it is definitely a big loss.

However, it would be reckless for Bielsa to risk him and potentially lose his star striker for the final as well.
