Leeds United have placed a €1.8 million (£1.5 million) bid for for highly rated NEC forward Anthony Limbombe, according to Voetbal Primeur.

The 21-year-old Belgian forward who can operate as a winger or a striker, has made 65 appearances for the Eredivisie side, netting 21 times, and has been subject to interest from new Leeds boss Garry Monk for a few weeks now, having attracted interest from predecessor Steve Evans last term.

Monk has already brought in two forwards, Oxford’s Kemar Roofe and Swede Marcus Antonsson, and was also linked to Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti a couple of days ago.

Belgian champions Club Brugge have also come knocking for the 21-year-old, and are preparing a bid for in the region of 2 millon euros.

NEC are extremely fearful of Limbombe leaving, the forward is contracted for another year, however there is a fear that he may be prized away by these high-profile clubs in the near future.

So…What do you think Leeds fans? Is Limbombe the final piece in the puzzle? Has Garry Monk done enough this transfer window to push Leeds up the table this year? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
