Leeds United striker banned for 8 matches after biting incident

It has been officially confirmed by the FA, that Leeds United’s Souleymane Doukara has been served an 8 match ban with immediate effect, after being found guilty of committing an act of violence.

As well as receiving an eight match ban, Doukara has also been charged £5,000 and has been warned about his future conduct which could lead to an even harsher offence if he was to face another disciplinary hearing after the 8 match ban has finished.

The incident in question happened in the 54th minute of the match against Fulham which saw Doukara breach FA rule E3.

Doukara has been ruled guilty of biting his opponent Fernando Amorobieta which has led to such a severe sentence which was set by the precedent of Luis Suarez biting Branislav Ivanovic.

It will be interesting to see how Steve Evans and Leeds respond to the charge and if Doukara will also face an internal disciplinary charge.

The Elland Road outfit currently sit in 13th place in the Sky Bet Championship table, after an inconsistent season which has seen them struggle to maintain any sort of consistency.

Leeds fans, how do you feel about the news? Did you witness the incident between Doukara and Amorebieta? Should Leeds look to terminate Doukara’s contract? Is the sentence too harsh? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
