Kemar Roofe is one of many players to have benefited significantly from the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa to Leeds United.

Roofe was signed from Oxford United back in the summer of 2016 but always lacked consistency in his performances until this season, scoring 14 goals in 26 Championship appearances.

But the striker received a huge blow on Monday morning when it was announced that the injury he had been carrying recently was, in fact, knee ligament damage and would see him ruled out for at least a few weeks.

With the Whites still in a brilliant position to win promotion, currently sat in third place but with game in hand on Norwich City and Sheffield United above them, the knock could not have come at a worse time.

Patrick Bamford will undoubtedly come into replace him until he returns to fitness and possibly beyond, but how will Roofe be feeling after this latest revelation?

After having such a positive season, the 26-year-old will surely be worried that it could be about to fizzle out rather unspectacularly.

With a player of Bamford's quality chomping at the bit to take his place in the team, there is a very real chance that he will struggle to get back into the side.

Bamford has impressed when played so it would not be a surprise to see him make the starting place his own.
