Leeds United were forced to settle for a point at Elland Road, as Derby struck late in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The Whites took a deserved lead with Max Lowe scoring an own goal, and they had a chance to double that lead in the second-half.

But Mateusz Klich missed his penalty, and Marcelo Bielsa's side were left to rue those missed opportunities as Chris Martin fired home in stoppage time to see Derby rescue an unlikely point.

Speaking in an interview with LUTV, Kalvin Phillips issued his thoughts following the draw at Elland Road, and voiced his frustrations after they were forced to settle for a point.

"We're disappointed. I think on another day we could have won it easily three or four nil.

"We are very frustrated with the result but overall the performance was a very good performance."

The midfielder also admitted that his side were guilty of being complacent at times during the contest, and is hopeful that they can improve in future weeks.

"I think we are just a little bit complacent at times towards the latter stages of the games and with our style of football it happens because we high press all the time and we get tired.

"But I think it's something we need to work on on the training ground and I think we will eventually get better with it."

Leeds take on Charlton Athletic next weekend, and they'll be keen to get back to winning ways under Bielsa as they look to strengthen their grip on top spot in the Championship.

The Verdict:

This was a frustrating afternoon for Phillips and his Leeds team-mates.

Leeds were the better side throughout the game, but didn't take the chances that came their way, which ultimately cost them three points.

They simply have to improve as the season progresses, and Bielsa surely needs to consider tweaking his side in the future, so that they can be more clinical in front of goal.
